Ayta 24-7 prayer

How do I pray for an hour for people I’ve never met?

1.Take some time to learn about the Ayta people groups. As you read and watch, pray for things that come to your attention

b. Read about the Ayta MagIndi at:

c. Read about the Ayta Ambala at:

2. Take some time to remind yourself that God loves all peoples on earth by reading and meditating on these Scriptures:  Daniel 7:13-14, Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, 2 Peter 3:8-9, Revelation 7:9.

3. Ask God to reveal His heart for the Ayta people. Interact with Him about those things.

4. Pray for general areas of concern for the Aytas:

    a. Sustainable livelihood.

    b. Legal rights to ancestral land.

    c. Clean water.

    d. Health education.

    e. Spiritual awakening.

    f. Access to education.

5. Pray for people who work regularly with the Aytas:

a. Government leaders: governors, mayors, and barangay leaders.

b. Government agencies: National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Department of Energy and Natural Resources (DENR), National Irrigation Agency (NIA), Department of Education (DepEd).

c. Church denominations: United Methodist, Catholic, Church So Blessed, Jesus Our Lord and Savior Ministries, Calvary Temple, Baptist.

d. Parachurch organizations: Wycliffe Bible Translators, Translators Association of the Philippines.

6. Spend some time thanking God that you have access to His Word through more than 500 translations of the Bible into English. Pray for the 2,000+ language groups that still need the Scriptures.

7. Pray for the members of the 3 Ayta Scripture translation committees:

a. Ayta Abellen – Rodante, Carmelita, Lena, Ptr. Pabling, Ptr. Emilio.

b. Ayta MagIndi – Ptr. Saldo, Loretta, Sol, Maria, Marivic, Josaphine, Tanya, Ptra. Ellen, Evelyn, Irene.

c. Ayta Ambala – Lina, Mercy, Linda, Ning, Joel, Amy, She, Mercy (advisor), Remy (advisor).

8. Pray for those involved with the upcoming trip (Jan. 12-27) to the Philippines:

a. Pray for the 4 participants from Beachpoint Church: Don, Becky, Kyra, and Matt.

b. Pray for Roger Stone (translation consultant).

c. Pray for Missy, Fely, Roding, and Belen who are coordinating logistics.

9. Pray for the first portion of the trip (Jan. 16-18) with the Ayta MagIndi:

a. Pray for Roger as he does the final consultant check on the Ayta MagIndi team’s translation of Luke 1-3.

b. Pray that Roger will be able to communicate well to the translation team how to do good village testing of the Scripture drafts.

c. Pray that the Beachpoint team will be able to record and test 7 Bible story videos from the gospel of Mark.

d. Pray that both the videos and the Luke portions will paint a clearer picture of who Jesus is.

10. Pray for the second portion of the trip (Jan. 19-21) with the Ayta Abellen:

a. Pray for Roger as he helps the Ayta Abellen team do village checking of 1-3 John. Pray that they will get these books ready to submit for final consultant review.

b. Pray for Roger and the Ayta Abellen team as they go over the draft of the script for the Jesus film (http://www.jesusfilm.org/). Pray that they will be able to get the script in good shape for recording July 2012.

c. Pray that the Beachpoint team will be able to record and test 8 Bible story videos from Luke and/or Acts.

d. Pray that both the videos and the books of 1-3 John will paint a clearer picture of who Jesus is.

11. Pray for the third portion of the trip (Jan. 23-25) with the Ayta Ambala:

a. Pray for Roger as he does the final consultant check on Mark 2-3. Pray that the Ayta Ambala team will learn more to develop their translation skills and that any problems with the draft will be found.

b. Pray that the Beachpoint team will be able to record and test 7 Bible story videos from the gospel of Mark.

c. Pray that both the videos and Mark 2-3 will paint a clearer picture of who Jesus is.


Don’t be in a hurry. Let the Holy Spirit guide your time.
